My name is Vojtech.

I speak fluent english and french. Czech is my mother tongue. Spanish is the language I am trying to master at the moment. I also run a small french translation bussiness Tlumočení francouzštiny for Czech clients and Tchèque traduction for French clients. I translate between French, Czech and English – and as the work really interests me and I do also for my own amusement, my prices are very interesting and some non-income events I translate even for free.

I received my Bachelor degree of Applied Informatics at the Faculty of Informatics at the Masaryk University in 2009. The very same year I spent on an exchange programme at Grenoble Institute of Technology in France.

I continued my Master's degree at the Czech Technical University in Prague, where I studied Artificial Intelligence. I finished with a Double-degree program of Artificial Intelligence in Grenoble, gaining Master of Research (MSc.), the thesis can be found here

To mention some project from my studies I show a Mandelbrot set builder in Haskell, which source is freely available. From more research stuff I want to mention my Minimum Perfect Matching tool written for MatLab using Integer linear programming. This tool should also become a part of Torsche Scheduling Toolbox.

My Masters' projects were realized at the french research center INRIA Rhône-Alpes in the spring semester of 2011. My first research topic was improving the XQuery Type Language, which was by that time still unsound. The thesis is available also available to view. The second research topic concerned an XML logical solver. My assignment was to invent new predicates to help the user analyze XML schemas and their evolution, which would be translated to logic and decided.

I started developing web applications long time ago with no experiences. My first real project was an information system for Economics Faculty of Masaryk University in 2005. The application was written from scratch in PHP. Afterwards I got employed by a Center for students with special needs Teiresias for which I developed a library search engine for the visual impaired and a signwriting editor for the hearing impaired.

With the sign-writing editor I managed to master perfectly JavaScript and JQuery. At the time I also started two personal projects (with Petr Zatorsky): SoldOut.cz and GoOut.cz. To make those projects successful, we had to study hard HTML5, CSS3 and in my case especially PHP Frameworks. The one, we end up using is Nette, which I now use for all of my projects and I even proposed some modifications in its source. In addition, I developed a datagrid add-on Tabella. Tabella and all my open-source projects can be seen at my GitHub.

I also participated on smaller projects like FineMagazine.co.uk.

I am currently self-employed on creation of List of cultural events in Prague GoOut. We try to provide simple and user-friendly list of all parties, concerts, arts and all other events that take place in Prague. We plan to grow all around the Czech Republic.
